Full Details

Ilsington is a stunning location for those that love the great outdoors. It is very accessible but has a rural feel. To have all 368 square miles of Dartmoor National Park literally on your doorstep is really very special indeed. The beauty here is that you are still close to amenities, in just a few minutes' drive you can be down in Bovey Tracey where there are all the facilities and shops you could need. The location also boasts two very well-regarded pubs/restaurants. The Rock is a small establishment that has a wonderful reputation and has a great menu. Tinpickle & Rhum is part of the Moorland Hotel and again, does excellent food and is a nice spot to pop in for a drink. Both of these are just a short 5 minute drive away. The beautiful Ilsington Country House Hotel & Spa is a short walk away, along with a local shop and the local Primary School.

Fancy a change from the moors on a hot day? The beaches at Teignmouth and Shaldon are just 30 minutes away and the South Hams around 45 minutes. Those needing to travel can be at Newton Abbot Train Station in around 20 minutes, where there are services to London Paddington in just 2.5 hours.

The characterful cottage is traditionally set over two floors. Upon entering through a Stable-style door, the entrance hall has plenty of space for coats and shoes. Straight ahead of you, opens out into the modern Kitchen/Diner area which has a spacious and light nature and is a perfect hub for the family. There is space for a dishwasher, a double range cooker and a large freestanding fridge-freezer. The U-shape kitchen has been designed to give you plenty of worktop space for cooking and the white ceramic sink area looks out on to the garden. The kitchen units are wooden, hand-crafted freestanding units with solid oak worktop.

The dining area currently has a table to fit four people comfortably, with doors leading out on to the back patio. Carrying on from the dining area to the left there is an office room perfect for those needing to work from home. There is a downstairs toilet/utility area with space for a washing machine, fitted with large cupboards along the back wall providing plenty of storage. Following through to the front of house is the living area, which has been tastefully renovated with exposed beams and brickwork throughout, with a log burner inset into a beautiful fireplace creating an attractive focal point to the room.
The stairs can be accessed from the kitchen, leading up to the three bedrooms. Two of them are located at the back of the house and are good sized double rooms, one with dual aspect windows and both with pretty views of the garden. The master bedroom is located at the front of the house with an en-suite that hosts a generous sized walk-in shower, WC and wash basin.
The main bathroom is also located on the first floor and has a panelled bath with a mains shower over. There is a double window which gives a light and airy feel, featuring a curved wall which is just one of the quirky characters adding to the country feel of this home. There is an airing cupboard in the hallway ready to store all those freshly clean clothes.
There are stunning features throughout the property, carefully restored by the current owners,  which makes this house feel like a home.

This enchanting garden is split between two levels, the first being a patio area perfect for outside dining in warmer months. There are wooden steps leading up to an attractive lawned area surrounded by an array of mature shrubs. To your far right, there is a Shed and a Summerhouse with a lovely outlook over the garden and fields. This charming garden has a choice of areas to sit and enjoy the picturesque countryside.

To the front there is a space for one vehicle and an electric charging point fixtures has been added for the owners to charge their car.

"From the first time we walked into this cottage we knew that it was going to be a lovely place to live for us, even though it certainly didn't look like it does now. We have spent many dusty days and scratching of heads to create what we consider to be a wonderful home. The rural location and being surrounded by countryside makes us feel like we are on holiday every day. The walks from the front door are incredible, a few minutes and you are in the middle of the idyllic Dartmoor National Park. We love our rear garden and the children have even created a 'secret garden' so they have their own escape too. We hope that whomever visits to view our home will get the same feeling that we have too."
